The government is not considering a strategic sale of its stake in state-owned lender IDBI Bank, minister of state for finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

The government is not considering a strategic sale of its stake in state-owned lender IDBI Bank, minister of state for finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

The government’s reply came after the lender notified the stock exchanges on Monday that it had received the approval of its shareholders to raise up to Rs 28,000 crore through a mix of equity and debt.
