Govt keeps small savings interest rates unchanged

The RBI on Thursday said that the government has kept interest rates unchanged for various small savings schemes for the July-October quarter of FY17.

The RBI on Thursday said that the government has kept interest rates unchanged for various small savings schemes for the July-October quarter of FY17. Quoting a finance ministry statement, the RBI said interest rate on one-year deposits for in the second quarter of FY17 has been kept unchanged at 7.1%. Similarly, interest rate on two-year deposits, three-year deposits and five-year deposits were kept at 7.2%, 7.4% and 7.9%, respectively.
