In FY14, the gross health cover premium collected by non-life insurers grew 13.2% year-on-year. The four public sector general insurers accounted for 62% of the total premium and their share continues to be consistent over the last four years. While private sector non-life insurers contributed 26% of the total, the remaining 12% came from private standalone health insurers. Group health business accounted for 46% of the total health insurance business, followed by 42% from individuals and 12% by the government.
