Bajaj Auto reported a 6% drop in motorcycle sales to 2.61 lakh units in November 2014. Total sales of Bajaj Auto two- and three-wheelers too has gone flat with the company selling 3.09 lakh units in the month compared to 3.10 lakh units it sold a year earlier. Total exports have gone up 24% to 1.64 lakh units.
Exports now account for 53.59% of the company’s total volumes. Bajaj’s commercial vehicles sales went up 48% to 47,311 units — the highest-ever November sales for the segment.
The Bajaj Auto scrip was down 0.90% to R2,617 on the BSE on Tuesday after the November sales numbers. The total sales in the fiscal year 2014-15 are now at 27.39 lakh units with a 4% growth. Motorcycles sales are up by just 2% at 23.72 lakh units and CV sales are up 22% at 3.66 lakh units. Exports for the year so far stood at 12.85 lakh units. Exports have grown by 24% in the April-November period.
