Tata Motors that recently released the first pictures of the Tata Zica, today revealed its features and specifications. Scheduled to be launched in the first half of January 2016, the Tata Zica will most probably replace the ageing Tata Indica. Designed with inputs from Tata Motors’ three design studios – Pune, UK and Italy – the vehicle is the third all-new product under Tata Motors’ HorizoNext product strategy.

With creases all around the body and prominent character lines on sides, the Zica surely is one of the better-looking Tata cars on sale today. The company calls its design ‘expressive and exciting’. “A confident and agile stance, bold sculpted body with sharp lines, new multifaceted Tata emblem and signature hexagonal grill make the Zica rise above the crowd.”, said the company in a statement.

Just like exterior, the Tata Zica’s cabin too look plush with ‘layered design theme’ with dual-tone colour scheme, customizable air-vents, premium knitted fabrics, and few other design elements. The company has also used the interior space quite intelligently as it offers 22 utility spaces and a boot space of 240-litres despite offering a spacious cabin for 5 adults.

The company also revealed the specifications of both the engines – 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel – that will be offered with the Zica. While the Revtron 1.2L is good for 84bhp and 115Nm, the 1.05-litre Revotorq churns out 69bhp and 140Nm. The Zica will be the only car in its segment to get multi-drive modes – City and Eco. Supported by Engine Management System (EMS), both the engines have been tuned to deliver great fuel efficiency and peppy driving experience.

The Tata Zica will be one of the safest cars in its league with features such as dual airbags, 9th generation ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), corner stability control, rear parking sensors with display on infotainment screen and energy absorbing body structure.

Besides an impressive design, a set of quite powerful engines and advanced safety features, the Tata Zica also offers tons of connectivity features. It gets HARMAN-developed infotainment and audio acoustics system that has USB, iPod, Aux and Bluetooth audio support. The Zica also gets 8-speakers and speed dependent volume control. In addition to the infotainment system, the Zica gets segment-first applications like the Turn-by-Turn navigation app and the Juke-car app.
