The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is expected to be sold through regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships unlike the Baleno and the S-Cross that are being retailed through Nexa
Ahead of its global debut at the Auto Expo 2016, Maruti Suzuki India has teased its upcoming sub-compact SUV – the Vitara Brezza – in a video. Expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh – Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will rival products like Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and the upcoming Hyundai Elite i20 based sub-compact SUV.
The short teaser video reveals the front fascia of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, which seems to have taken its inspiration from the global model of the Suzuki Vitara and the XA Alpha concept. The vehicle features projector head-lights, LED daytime running lamps, radiator grille with vertical slats and Suzuki’s ‘S’ signature logo.
The vehicle’s rear will feature a chrome slat with Vitara Brezza written on it. The sub-4 metre SUV is the first all made-in-India car from Maruti without taking any validations from Suzuki’s global team. The vehicle has been designed and developed completely by Maruti in about three and half years under the guidance of CV Raman, executive director – engineering, Maruti Suzuki India.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is expected to be sold through regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships unlike the Baleno and the S-Cross that are being retailed through Nexa. Expected to be based on either the Swift or the Baleno platform, the Vitara Brezza could be offered with a 91bhp 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine that also does duty on the S-Cross DDiS 200 and the Ciaz. Transmission options on offer could be a 5-speed manual and an automatic gearbox.
