Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is planning to launch a new product in the country on 19th November. If sources are to be believed, it could be the same ‘mystery’ bike that was teased at the 2015 Honda RevFest earlier this year. Likely to be called the Honda CB Shine SP, the new 125cc bike will replace the current CB Shine which is currently the top-selling 125cc bike in the country.
With several design changes and new features, the Honda CB Shine SP will be a more up-market product than the current CB Shine. Though it will continue to feature the same 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with HET (Honda ECo Technology) that powers the current model. This engine is good for 10.57bhp at 7,500rpm and 10.3Nm at 5,500rpm.
According to spy images doing rounds on the internet, the new Honda CB Shine SP will get an all-new headlight cowl and visor, new tail-lamp, silver-finished side panels, black grab-rail, new seats, full chain cover, clear-lense indicators and few other changes. The CB Shine SP will also a set of new 10-spoke alloys, slightly redesigned exhaust and rear suspension springs in red colour. Besides the aforementioned changes, the 125cc bike will also get the ‘Smart Power’ start-stop technology that automatically stops the engine in idle and starts when the clutch is released. This technology will also help the bike achieve a higher fuel efficiency. SP in the name of the bike stands for smart power.
While the new Honda CB Shine SP will be the company’s 14th product out of 15 promised for this year, the CB Hornet 160R will be the last launch this year. The Cb Hornet 160R is likely to be rolled out by the end of this calendar year.
