“The Jazz is a very successful model around the world with over 5.5 million units sold across 75 countries since the launch of first generation in 2001,” Honda Cars India President & CEO Katsushi Inoue said.
He said Jazz model played a “significant” role in boosting business globally and was confident of replicating it in India.
The new generation Jazz was developed at Honda’s Research and Development Centre in Japan.
“The new Jazz will be a key pillar of business and would be instrumental in driving the growth for Honda Cars in India,” Honda Cars India Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Jnaneswar Sen said.
The company claimed that the petrol variant equipped with 1.2 litre L i-VTEC engine comes with fuel efficiency of 19kmpl and the Diesel version powered by the 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine fuel economy of 27.3kmpl, the statement said.
