It was only last month when Honda Cars India had recalled over 2.23 lakh units of its different cars built between 2004 and 2012 to replace airbag inflators, and now the company has announced to recall a total of 3,879 automatic-transmission equipped units of new-generation Honda City.
“Honda City manufactured from Feb’14 to Nov’14 to update the software that manages the continuously variable transmission (CVT) as part of Honda’s recall campaign in several regions globally. The CVT control software will be updated to optimize the Hydraulic Pressure applied to the CVT.”, said the company in a statement.
The company says that the software will be updated free of cost at all Honda dealerships across the country from October 24, 2015, and the company will directly communicate the same with customers. The Honda City CVT owners can also check if their car is covered under this campaign by entering their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on a special microsite created on the company’s official website (www.hondacarindia.com).
