At the ongoing Auto Expo, the country’s largest passenger car company Maruti Suzuki is organising flash mobs to create awareness about seat belt use. A flash mob is usually a large public gathering at which people perform an unusual or seemingly random act and then disperse. Part of its #PehniKya safety campaign, these flash mobs dance to the tune of a ‘seat belt song’—a catchy jingle that, the company says, is designed to create an impact on the importance of wearing seatbelts. Maruti has partnered with The Danceworx, led by choreographer Ashley Lobo, for a signature dance routine. These flash mob performances are taking place thrice a day at the Expo which runs till February 14.
