Audi India will launch the new A4 in the country this week. The highest selling Audi sedan, globally as well as in India, the A4 enters into its ninth generation with this model. The new A4 is 4.73 metres long and has a wheelbase of 2.82 metres, both more than its predecessor. The front and rear design is characterised by horizontal lines, making the car look wider than it really is. It also gets the trademark Singleframe grille.
Now, even as its dimensions have increased, the company says the car’s unladen weight has decreased significantly.
Inside the cabin, it gets the new MMI (Multi Media Interface) display. MMI control, which is located on the centre console, has been redesigned and serves as the main control element. The car will be assembled locally, at the company’s Aurangabad plant. Right now it will be offered with a 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine, which produces a maximum power of 150bhp and maximum torque of 250Nm, mated to the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. We expect it will be priced under Rs 40 lakh.
