Dassault Systemes, a leader in 3D design software and product lifecycle management, today said Ashok Leyland has adopted two offerings of its ‘3DExperience’ platform to cut costs and simplify processes.
The heavy commercial vehicle maker has adopted ‘Modular, Glocal and Secure’ and ‘Target Zero Defect’, two of Dassault Systemes’ industry solutions tailored to address the business challenges of transportation and mobility, a company statement read.
The solutions accelerate modular vehicle programmes and respond to strategic regional requirements.
With the implementation, Ashok Leyland can develop vehicle programmes with IP protection, “minimise cost and simplify complexity across programmes”, it said.
“In today’s competitive market, suppliers and manufacturers like Ashok Leyland must introduce new features faster than ever while managing vehicle and development process complexities,” Dassault Systemes Vice-President (Transportation and Mobility Industry) Olivier Sappin said.
While Ashok Leyland was already using Dassault Systemes’ 3DExperience platform for data management, the latest services offer “powerful collaborative capabilities, virtual analysis and simulations facilitating vehicle development”.
“Dassault Systemes’ industry solution enables us to focus on improving vehicle performance and reducing weight, fuel consumption and emissions as well as prioritising digital sculpting and surface optimisation,” Ashok Leyland Vice-President and Head, Research and Development, N Saravanan said.
