Adani Group joins GEIDCO club

Infrastructure conglomerate Adani Group has joined Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organisation (GEIDCO) as a member, which is a non-governmental body dedicated to promoting sustainable development of energy worldwide.

Infrastructure conglomerate Adani Group has joined Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organisation (GEIDCO) as a member, which is a non-governmental body dedicated to promoting sustainable development of energy worldwide. The group claimed that it is the first Indian conglomerate to join GEIDCO. GEIDCO is a non-profit international entity of globally renowned firms, associations, institutions and individuals, the Adani Group said in a statement.

According to the statement, the purpose of GEIDCO is to promote establishment of a Global Energy Interconnection system to meet global demand for electricity in a clean and green way to implement the United Nations Sustainable Energy for All and climate change initiatives and serve sustainable development.

The company, in a JV with Rajasthan, is developing the country’s largest solar park with 10,000 mw capacity. In Phase –I, it is implementing a 2,000 mw solar park.

The Adani group is also the largest integrated solar PV manufacturer in the country, it added.
