Zakir Naik, a controversial Islamic preacher facing various probes over alleged provocative speeches, addressed the media in Mumbai through video calling service Skype today.

Naik’s media address was earlier scheduled at Trident Hotel in Mumbai, but then it got changed to World Trade Centre. While it was again shifted to Mehfil hall, yet he chose to address the media via Skype from Medina.

During the press conference, Zakir Naik started with an Islamic prayer and condemning the France terror attack. He claimed that he has replies to all allegations made on TV, saved on pen drives.

Naik said he condemns all terror attacks anywhere in world,will speak for hours if needed. Suicide bombing where innocents r killed is haraam, but it can be permitted if used as a tactic in a war.

He claimed that the clips which were being shown in the media were doctored and his answers were taken out of context.

“Newspaper which blamed me for the Dhaka Attack later corrected itself and exonerated me,” said Zakir Naik.

“Chapter 5, Verse 32 Quran says killing innocents is crime. I have been giving lectures for 25 years, never encouraged terrorism. No scripture othr thn Quran says 1 innocent killed is killing humanity,” he said.

Chaos ensued at the press conference when a question by a reporter made Zakir Naik accuse reporter of not having ‘tameez’.

He said that Indian government authorities have not approached him yet with any queries. “So far I have had no problem with Indian govt or the police,” he said.
