With BJP all set to form government in Uttar Pradesh in couple of hours from now, the Assocham has today said that the Yogi Adiyanath Government in the state will have immediate task of ensuring quality power supply as also come out with lasting solutions for arrears of sugarcane farmers.
With BJP all set to form government in Uttar Pradesh in a couple of hours from now, the Assocham has today said that the Yogi Adityanath Government in the state will have immediate task of ensuring quality power supply as also come out with lasting solutions for arrears of sugarcane farmers. “The top priority of the new state government should be to drastically improve the quality and quantity of power supply,” the industry chamber said in a statement.
It further said that the state government will have to bring the state utility to better health to help people living in urban and rural areas get better electricity supply. The Assocham also urged the new government in Uttar Pradesh to focus on agro-processing sector of the state.
It chamber also said that as the BJP now is in power in both Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, coordination between both states should be better for the better deal to the Bundelkhand areas, which have suffered due to water scarcity. “Faced with high expectations created by a massive mandate given to the BJP, the incoming CM of Uttar Pradesh has to meet immediate challenges of ensuring much better electricity supply and find lasting solutions for arrears of sugarcane farmers,” it added.
Yesterday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the name of Yogi Adityanath as the next Uttar Pradesh chief minister after much speculation about a number of other contenders including Rajnath Singh, Manoj Sinha, Swatantra Dev Singh, Keshav Prasad Maurya or others. With Adityanath as the CM, the saffron party has also announced Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya as the Deputy Chief Ministers of the state.

The BJP held its legislature meeting to elect the successor of Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav, with party president Amit Shah empowered to take the final call. Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu and BJP general secretary Bhupendra Yadav were among others who were present at the meet at the party’s central observer.
