In the wake of surgical strikes by the Army across Line of Control (LoC), the Western Naval Command (WNC) today cancelled two major activities which were scheduled between October 1 to 3 as part of the ‘Navy Week’.

WNC has cancelled ‘Ships Open to Visitors’, which was scheduled on October 1 and 2, and ‘Day at Sea’ on October 3 for NCC cadets and Sainik School students, it said in a statement here.

The Navy undertakes several activities as a part of celebration of Navy Week from October 3 to December 4 every year.

In the aftermath of the Army’s anti-terror strike, some more changes are expected in Navy Week program schedule, a WNC official told PTI.

The Army, on the intervening night of September 28 and 29, struck seven terror launch pads across the LoC with its special forces inflicting “significant casualties” on terrorists preparing to infiltrate from PoK.
