West Bengal civic polls underway: Trinamool Congress, Left Front in mega face-off

The municipal elections begun here on Saturday, pitting the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Left Front in a face-off as voters queued up to cast their votes.

The TMC’s electoral supremacy will be challenged by the Left Front in the key municipal election.

According to reports, amongst reported cases of violence, the campaign for the election to the Asansol Municipal Corporation and Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation is expected to end by afternoon today and the results will be announced on October 16.
