Atif Aslam, the famous Pakistani import to Bollywood has made hearts croon to his tunes so when a concert of the famous singer was called off in Gurgaon, fans were disappointed. But for Hindu Kranti Dal, it was one more check on their achievements list.

The Dal that has over 32,000 workers across various states like Haryana, Odisha nad Bihar gloats in its agendas, the major ones being spreading patriotism. So, when they met Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner TL Satyaprakash to call off the upcoming concert of Atif Aslam in Leisure Valley Gurgaon quoting ‘sentiments of armed forces/soldiers at the frontier’, the district authorities had to comply.

The concert was ‘indefinitely postponed’ by the authorities. The organizers though claim that considering the mounting tension between India and Pakistan, the step has been taken, the Hindu Dal says otherwise.

The Dal who had written to the Gurgaon Deputy saying “The district administration has been hurting the sentiments of the people of the country by giving permission for such Pakistani concerts,” is proud of the fact that they are able to bar Pakistani artistes from performing in India.

The Dal advocates the idea of a ”Hindu nation” and takes up such issues as curbing violence on women, helping poor women married, dowry abuse, protection of cows being one of the most significant ones on their list.

Post the Uri attack, while the nation gears up for the counter against Pak, the Hindu Kranti Dal has started with a unique campaign called ‘Khoon Ko Tilak Karo'(Blood for Nation). Calling it as an aide to the Indian soldiers, this campaign invites registration from Indians to donate blood so that the soldiers can be helped whenever needed.

“We opened registration two days ago and have already got 5,000 volunteers. As awareness about the campaign increases, we expect this number will rise and soon reach our target of 1 lakh,” Rajeev Mittal, national general secretary of the Dal and one of its founders, said Thursday.

On the cancellation of the Atif concert, Mittal added that their group is not against art or artistes but when the country is reeling under the war and our soldiers are being killed, we have a problem with their questionable intent.
