The working president and treasurer of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), MK Stalin has attacked Narendra Modi-led central government again in a video. In a two minutes, 20 seconds video released by Stalin on his Twitter account on Sunday, the DMK leader said the Centre has “not invested even 1 percent on trying to solve the real problems facing the people of Tamil Nadu” and urged the Prime Minister to put an immediate end to selective use of agencies like I-T dept, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI for political benefit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In the video, where Stalin is seen sitting on a chair, started by talking about the suffering of Tamil Nadu farmers. The Opposition leader said “farmers are committing suicide in Tamil Nadu. The entire Cauvery delta is suffering from drought and the Cauvery Management Board has not been formed”. He further added that the “drought has brought people to the streets with empty water containers.”

He then moved to the political crisis running in the state. Stalin said “the Tamil Nadu government remains paralysed ever since the former chief minister Jayalalithaa was first admitted to the hospital in September 2016” but the “Union government does not seem the least bit concerned about that”. He alleged the “BJP government has not shown any urgency at all to address issues of great importance to Tamil Nadu such as the water disputes with the neighbouring states or the attacks on Tamil Nadu fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy and related arrest of fishermen, which have to be handled at a national level”. Rather it is making desperate attempt to “gain foothold” in the state, said Stalin asking “why has the BJP government resorted to low tactics like raiding Tamil Nadu Ministers and intimidating IAS officers to the extent that they have totally paralysed the State government”.
He said it is “now crystal clear that it is the hand of the BJP” behind Central government “which is directing this blindingly obvious one-sided application of ‘Selective Raids’ and ‘Selective Arrests’ against one faction of the AIADMK, while it is turning a blind eye and allowing strong incriminating evidence against the other faction of the AIADMK to gather dust”.

Stalin, saying that the PM should put an immediate end to selective usage of agencies like the I-T department, ED and CBI, which are being used for the political benefit of the BJP. He urged PM “to ensure that Tamil Nadu has a legitimate and stable government, which functions with the full powers of every state government as entrusted in our Constitution”.
He also subtly touched the issue of NEET and said “the dreams of many students to become doctors is under threat because of compulsory NEET exam”.
