Janata Dal (United) leader K.C. Tyagi on Tuesday welcomed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s decision to ask the High Court to order a CBI probe into the Vyapam scam, and said that the latter should step down from his post till the investigation in the case is complete.

“I welcome this decision. Till the investigation yields an outcome, both him (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) and Governor should step down from their posts. Vyapam scam has become a major scam now. Many scams have taken place in the country in the last 60 years, but this is the first time that so many deaths have taken place,” said Tyagi.

Chouhan had earlier in the day said that he will request the High Court to ask the CBI to conduct an inquiry into the Vyapam scam.
