The NDA appears poised to make a triumphant return to power in Bihar — leading in more than 200 seats. A video of Prime Minister Modi predicting a ‘record-setting’ victory for the ruling coalition went viral as the votes were tallied on Friday. Election Commission data also suggested that seats where PM Modi campaigned saw a corresponding surge in voter turnout during the two-phased polls.

“We are going to form the government in Bihar once again. All of you should prepare for the victory celebration. The NDA’s biggest victory ever is certain in this election. And that is why, after the 14th, I am telling you to prepare for the victory celebration. The public mood and the words of the Congress party indicate that they have lost Bihar. That is why they are busy searching for reasons,” Modi had said during a rally in Sitamarhi.

NDA trends at 4 pm

The Election Commission is yet to call any of the seats and counting remains underway with varying victory margins.

What went right for NDA?

The return of a confident, coordinated BJP-JD(U) alliance has significantly reshaped the battlefield this time. With Prime Minister Modi standing firmly beside Nitish Kumar throughout the campaign, the coalition projected a united and reinvigorated front, emphasising welfare delivery, infrastructure expansion, social schemes, and administrative stability.

The mix of PM Modi’s national appeal and Bihar CM’s extensive grassroots presence has created a formidable electoral force, one that appears poised to translate its political momentum into a landslide victory in Bihar. As Bihar reached the verdict stage, the PM Modi-Nitish partnership has emerged as the defining factor of the assembly election.
