Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Vidarbha Singh Singh on Saturday reflected in the Disproportionate Assets case against him and blamed the BJP and its leaders like P K Dhumal and former BCCI President Anurag Thakur for hatching a conspiracy against him. Earlier yesterday, the Delhi High Court had dismissed his and his wife’s plea to quash the DA case against them, which had been filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI). The High Court Judge, Justice Vipin Singh also vacated the earlier High Court’s interim order which had stopped the CBI from arresting, interrogating and filing any charge sheets against the CM without taking prior permission from the court.

The Himachal Pradesh CM meanwhile, is known to have asked the HC for directions to quash the FIR lodged against him and his wife under Sections 13(2) and 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The FIRs have also been lodged under the IPC Section 109 by the CBI. Meanwhile, Singh and his wife are reported to have claimed in their plea that the CBI did not have anyu prior order or jurisdiction to inquire, investigate and register cases against him.

The CM also alleged ‘malafide intentions and political vendetta’ by the CBI. He has further claimed that the CBI had gone beyond its jurisdiction as the case did not happen in Delhi and the CBI had not taken the state government or the Home Ministry’s permission before conducting raids on the ‘sitting’ Chief Minister. The CBI meanwhile, has said that there were serious charges against the CM due to the involvement of a huge amount of money. The CBI had justified its actions saying that the case had been in their jurisdiction as it had arisen when Singh was a Union Minister in the UPA government.
