UP elections 2017: Education, development of no use unless Ram temple is constructed, says BJP’s Vinay Katiyar

BJP MP Vinay Katiyar, after casting his vote in Ayodhya, today, has stated that no progress in the fields of development, education or income is of any use until the Ram Temple is built in Ayodhya.

Vinay Katiyar asserted that the construction of the temple for the Hindu deity will be successful and claimed that the people of Ayodhya are also in favour of the same. (ANI)

As the fifth phase of the crucial Uttar Pradesh assembly elections continues for 51 seats across 12 districts of the state, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Vinay Katiyar, after casting his vote in Ayodhya, today, has stated that no progress in the fields of development, education or income is of any use until the Ram Temple is built in Ayodhya. He further asserted that the construction of the temple for the Hindu deity will be successful and claimed that the people of Ayodhya are also in favour of the same.

“Development has been done in the region, employment, education has also been provided, but without Ram Mandir everything is useless. The people of Ayodhya want Ram Mandir and it will be constructed,” said Katiyar.

Ayodhya Assembly seat, which falls in Faizabad district, used to be a traditional stronghold of BJP since the Ram Temple movement days. But it was snatched by SP in 2012 and this time the saffron party is trying to wrest the seat back.

Katiyar also backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘crematory-graveyard’ remark and said that the latter was just talking in favours of both and there is anything wrong in it.

The fifth phase of the state assembly elections will decide the fate of 607 candidates who are in the fray in this phase with maximum of 24 candidates in Amethi and minimum of six each in Kapilvastu and Etwa seats of Siddharth Nagar district. A total of 1.84 crore voters will exercise their franchise at 18,822 polling booths today. The districts which are going for polls are Amethi, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Barabanki, Ambedkarnagar, Baharaich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Basti, Siddharthnagar and Sant Kabir Nagar.
