The United States Army has taken its website down temporarily after a hacking attack, and said it had to take measures to ensure there was no breach of data.

According to the BBC, the Syrian Electronic Army that supports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The US said Chinese hackers attacked federal government computers last week and may have compromised the records of four million employees.

China denied any involvement calling all allegations “not responsible, and counterproductive”.
