Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday took on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his comment in Uttar Pradesh during Assembly elections in which PM said that the first thing the BJP government would do if and when it comes to power would be to waive off farmers’ loans. Rahul Gandhi in his Sitapur rally said that Modi doesn’t have to have a government in UP to sort out farmers’ debt crisis. “You (Modi) are PM you can just choose to waive off their debts,” said Gandhi. “Modiji, kisaanon ka karza maaf karne ke liye aapko UP mein sarkar ki zaroorat nahi hai, aap PM hain, karza maaf kar sakte hain,” said Gandhi.

Gandhi accused Modi of lying to people to make a government in UP. He said that Modi does not want to tell the people of UP that they have the power to become a factory for the world. “Modiji sirf satta mei rehna chahte hain, sachai nahi batana chahte ki UP mei itni shakti hai ki ye puri duniya ki factory ban jayega,” said Gandhi.

He also promised the people that if Samajwadi Party- Congress alliance comes to be in UP, they will make sure that every city in UP gets free coaching centres for the youth, “Our government will open free coaching centres for youths in every city of UP,” said Gandhi in Sitapur.
