Uma Bharti, known for her saadhvi image, while attending a youth conference was seen precariously standing on a stool to give her speech and, while she continued to hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Trinamool Congress’ Mamata Banerjee while delivering her lecture, an unidentified worker was seen holding the stool for the minister – quite an uncomfortable scene. Be that as it may, Minister of Water Resources backed PM Narendra Modi’s decision to ban high-value notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000. She said PM Modi has proved that he has a 56-inch chest, implying that he is strong and hence capable of being the Prime Minister. She said people with black money do not deserve to even drive a scooter but are driving cars. She also did not leave the opposition alone, and strongly criticised them for opposing the demonetisation move. Mocking the opposition, she said Sonia Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee and Rahul Gandhi do not even know grocery prices and they are shouting that the poor are upset.

She also talked about how black money has clogged religious places. She said I don’t even go for family weddings and I ask them to stay unmarried if they have been asked to give dowry.

PM Narendra Modi on November 8th had banned high value of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 and had announced that these notes which have long been in circulation could be exchanged in the banks till the 30th of December 2016. TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee and president of INC, Rahul Gandhi have criticised the government’s move. Mamata Banerjee has asked for the roll-back of the policy.
