Tripura Election Results 2023: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a second term in the north-eastern state of Tripura. The results are in the keeping with the exit polls predictions which had predicted a return of the saffron party in the state. Polling for the 60-member Tripura Assembly took place on February 16, which witnessed a voter turnout of 89.98 per cent. From the Town Bardowali constituency, Chief Minister Manik Saha won and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma of the BJP was defeated by Subodh Deb Barma of the Tipra Motha party.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the BJP won 36 seats, while its ally IPFT bagged 18 constituencies. The CPI(M)-led Left Front emerged victorious in 16 seats, while the Congress drew a blank.

Ranjit Das of the BJP won by a margin of 4,594 beating CPI-M's Parimal Debnath.

Brishaktu Debbarma of the Tipra Motha party won from the ST-reserved Simna seat, beating rivals Binod Debbarma from the BJP. While Brishaketu secured 15882 votes, Binod got 5385 votes, according to the Election Commission of India website.

CM Manik Saha of the BJP is leading in the fifth round of counting as he has polled 16446 votes so far. His nearest rival Congress' Asish Kumar Saha is trailing with 15125 votes so far.
The BJP has taken a comfortable lead with 33 seats in the 60-member Assembly, and a 40.06 per cent vote share. The CPI-M party is leading in nine seats with a vote share of 25.50 per cent, INC leads in five seats and has a vote share of 9.04 per cent, as per the ECI trends at 11:45 AM.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has taken a comfortable lead with 33 seats in the 60-member Assembly, and looks poised to get a second term in the state. The CPI-M party is leading in nine seats, INC leads in five seats, and new party TIPRA Motha party is leading in 11 seats, as per the ECI trends on 11:45 AM.

Banamalipur – BJP state unit chief Rajiv Bhattacharjee is against former MLA Gopal Roy of the Congress. From the constituency, former Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb fought and won in the 2018 assembly polls.
Dhanpur – BJP has fielded Union minister Pratima Bhoumik, who is pitted against Kaushik Chanda from CPI-M, while TMC and TIPRA Motha fielded Amiya Dayal Noatia from Dhanpur.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gitte Kirankumar Dinakarrao said that counting is taking place across 21 counting centres and there will be around five to eight rounds of counting. The trends are expected to be clear around noon, he added.
Early trends in Tripura show that the BJP and IPFT alliance is leading in 40 seats, while Left-Congress combine is leading in 15 seats. The Tipra Motha party, which made its debut in the 2023 Tripura election, is leading in six seats.

The BJP has allied with IPFT (Indigenous People's Front of Tripura), its partner in the previous assembly polls. The BJP contested 55 seats of 60-member assembly in Tripura. The Left Front fielded candidates in 47 seats and Congress on 13. Tipra Motha fought 42 seats and Trinamool Congress put up candidates on 28 seats.
The counting of votes of 60 assembly constituencies in Tripura will be held in 21 counting locations across the state.
