Treebo, a Bengaluru- based tech enabled chain of hotels is expanding its operations across Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur. It offers budget accommodation with 100 per cent guaranteed quality to travellers, through online booking. The group has recently raised a US$ six million financing round led by Matrix Partners India and SAIF Partners and will be utilising it for its nationwide expansion.
Treebo partners with small, standalone hotels and helps them improve their service quality standards and also market themselves more effectively. The core pillars of the company are technology innovations, on-the-ground process discipline, and new-age marketing. At present, Treebo has built an inventory of over 1000 carefully curated rooms in Bengaluru and is continuing its expansion in the city with 75 per cent occupancy within a short span. Company’s Net Promoter Score (NPS), a metric used to measure customer loyalty, currently stands at 60 per cent plus. It intends to spread out across 12 cities with 2000 rooms by the end of the year.
Commenting on this launch, Rahul Chaudhary, co-founder, Treebo said, “By expanding our network in the metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur, we aim to bring the benefits of asset-light affordable accommodation to the travellers in these cities. Each of these cities is an important travel destination having 1000 or more hotels singularly and the consumers in these cities are more informed, discerning and demanding. Therefore, they were natural candidates for expansion for us.”
He further added, “Every market in India is different in terms of the number of hotels, price points, etc. Interestingly Jaipur, despite being relatively smaller, has the highest concentration of hotels with nine hotels for every sq km of area. Our approach and expansion plans take these differences into consideration.”
Treebo will begin its extended operations with the launch of two new hotels in the prominent micro markets of Karol Bagh in Delhi, Bapu Nagar in Jaipur and Bandra in Mumbai. Over the next 12 months Treebo aims to be present in more than 20 cities with an inventory of 5000 rooms.
