Three years of Narendra Modi government: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, at an event to celebrate three years of Modi government today said that India will find a permanent solution to the Kashmir problem. The minister added that India won’t fall prey to Pakistan’s tactics to destabilise the country. Rajnath Singh said, ”The neighbouring nation is not only trying to destabilise Kashmir but the whole country. They won’t be successful,” according to an ANI report.
The minister lashed out at Pakistan saying that, ”Few elements are trying to lead the youth of Kashmir astray. I assure you we will find a lasting solution to the problem in Kashmir”. Rajnath Singh also accused Pakistan of harbouring terrorists, according to an ANI report.
Pakistan has ratcheted up the attacks on India, but the same has been fiercely retaliated against leading to the killing of a number of terrorists in Kashmir. Security forces killed Burhan Wani’s successor, Sabzar Ahmad Bhat of the Hizbul Mujahideen last week.
India has also humiliated Pakistan in a legal battle at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the detention of former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav who is in Pak custody since last year. A Pakistani Army court has sentenced Jadhav to death.
The Home Minister also took pot shots at the Congress party at the event, he said that the grand old party was trying to highlight the missteps of the Modi government, but is in its last stage and battling hard to preserve its existence. Rajnath said, ”The Congress party is today fighting to protect its existence,” according to ANI.
