Another shocking behaviour from an Uber cab driver in Gurugram has come to the forefront. This time the cabbie was allegedly taking pictures of a woman. As per The Indian Express, on Wednesday, an Uber cab driver has been arrested by Gurgaon police as he allegedly took pictures of a woman employee of a multinational company. As per the report, the incident took place near the Supermart 1 in Gurgaon where the woman was sitting and drinking tea with two woman co-workers outside a tea stall. According to the complainant, the accused driver was allegedly standing nearby and staring at them. But, he moved to another area and positioned himself near a cab when the women noticed him.

After seeing the man’s actions, the women noticed the man using his mobile phone to take pictures of them. when the women confronted him, he tried to flee. However, the police were alerted and the man was caught. The accused has been identified as Anurag, sho hails from Palwal and works for Uber. A case has been registered against the driver under section 509 of the Indian Penal Code. He was produced in the court on Thursday and has been sent to Bhondsi Jail.

Meanwhile, Uber released a press statement in which the company spokesperson condemned the behaviour of the driver. “While we condemn his behaviour, the person concerned was off-trip when the incident happened. We have already offered our assistance to the police in this matter and proactively removed his access to the app,” Uber spokesperson said.

This is not the first time that misbehaviour from Uber drivers has been witnessed. Last year in June, 32-year-old Uber taxi driver was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a woman IT professional at Technopark at Thiruvananthapuram. In May 2016, a 31-year-old woman had alleged that an Ola cab driver misbehaved with her in Bengaluru.
