At a time when Banks are flooded with people seeking to withdraw money, existence of a bank with money but no withdrawers is itself surprising. As per a TV report by India Today, there is a bank in Bihar’s Patna, which despite having adequate cash, getting no withdrawers. Even the ATM machine installed outside the ICICI bank branch is filled with cash, but no queues can be seen there.
When India Today correspondent asked a man why there is no one withdrawing money, he said, “ATMs are only dispensing Rs 2,000 notes, will a vegetable seller accept it, we need Rs 100 and Rs 500 notes.”

Still, it remains quite surprising to see a bank with no rush in this time. Even on the 35th day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, long queues are still being witnessed in metro cities.
However, most of the ATMs in urban areas are largely filled with new Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes. Situation is that grim in urban areas that as many as 80 people have been reported died due to standing in queues. The ATMs are getting emptied as soon as they get filled with money. But this Patna ICICI branch, seems to be an exception in these times.
