The incident was captured on camera outside the court in Panchkula. In the video, Salwara can be seen rushing to help Ram Rahim by lifting his bag. The Dera chief was also accompanied by Honeypreet, who claims to be like his daughter. Haryana Advocate General Baldev Mahajan has confirmed that the deputy AG has been sacked saying he had recommended the termination on seeing the video, as per CNN-News18. “The Deputy Advocate General has relations with the Dera,” he was quoted as saying by NDTV. The Haryana government today also suspended the Deputy Commissioner of Police of Panchkula, alleging that a “defective” order by him allowed the crowd build-up in the district.
Thirty-two people have lost their lives and over 250 were injured in Haryana after Dera Sacha Sauda followers went on a rampage following the conviction of their sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh by a CBI court here in a rape case. Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been kept in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail. The Army along with the police and paramilitary forces have put up barricades at entry points of the Dera premises, where tens of thousands of Dera followers, stayed despite an appeal by authorities to leave. Two AK-47 rifles and a pistol have been recovered from a car which allegedly belongs of Rahim’s supporter.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court today asked the Haryana government to provide details of Ram Rahim’s movable and immovable properties in next hearing on 29 August. Slamming the government for its inaction, the court said, “You let Panchkula burn for political benefits.” The Haryana government have sealed 36 Dera ashrams in areas including Kurukshetra, Ambala and Kaithal among others, as per India Today.
