The posts of President, vice president and secretary were won by the ABVP’s Amit Tanwar, Priyanka Chabri and Ankit Sangwan repectively. The post of joint secretary went to NSUI’s Mohit Sangwan.
On this occassion congratulatory messages poured in from parts of senior leadership of the BJP. Shazia Ilmi while speaking exclusively to Financial Express said, “This is the biggest vindication of the ABVP”.
“It shows that all the hue and cry surrounding the Kanhaiya issue raised by the Congress and the left parties has not got them to anywhere. This win by the ABVP sends a clear signal that the students of Delhi University are perfectly in-line with the ABVP at large. The unnecessary fuss that was created about the government for not being supportive of campus politics has been demolished. BJP and its allied student body continue to reflect the interests of the student body at large”.
