The Uttar Pradesh education department has allowed admission of a four-year-old girl child in Class 9 of a Lucknow school. With the admission, which was granted on Monday, Ananya Verma, may find a place in the Limca Book of Records. Times of India (ToI) reported that Ananya is just 4 years and 8 months old. If she manages to pass Class 10 in less than two years, the child prodigy will break the record of her elder sister Sushma Verma, who was a little over 7 years when she passed Class 10 in 2007, the report said.

Ananya has been admitted to St Meera’s Inter College affiliated to UP Board in Lucknow. Her elder sister was also a student of the same school.

District inspector of schools Umesh Tripathi was all praise for Ananya. ToI quoted him as saying that she was so talented that the department could not deny her admission to Class 9. She can speak fluently in Hindi and also read Class 9 books easily.

Ananya’s father, Tej Bahadur, is a sanitation supervisor at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, while her mother is illiterate. However, Ananya’s both elder siblings have been wonder kids and famous in the city as child prodigies.

Her brother, Shailendra, who is eldest among the three, completed BCA at the age of 14, while Sushma got admission into PhD at BBAU when she was just 15. Sushma’s name was also included in the Limca Book of Records for being the youngest person to pass Class 10 when she was just 7.3 years old.
