THERE’S VIP and then there’s iVIP. The latter is a London-based high-end service that covers all aspects of the luxury lifestyle, including bodyguards, butlers, theatres, personal trainers, private jets, supercars, a concierge, casinos, personal styling and other exotica for the very rich or very famous. The advantage of the iVIP service is that they have tied up with some of the biggest names in the luxury business to offer exclusivity and special offers from places like Gordon Ramsay restaurants, Virgin Limited Edition, Richard Branson’s Necker Island, The Lodge Verbier, Magellan Jets and many more, including the Chatwal Hotel in New York. The ‘i’ in iVIP is possibly from their offerings of Apple products, which includes limited-edition Apple iPhones that can go up to £1 million. This iPhone can be ordered in gold, platinum and diamond, and is available exclusively to members of iVIP.
They also offer laser engraving to your specifications on the rear of the device in addition to your name and iVIP membership number. There’s also an app that can be downloaded by members called iVIP Black. It is an exclusive iPhone app for the filthy rich and costs around $1,000. It is called the Millionaire’s App and provides iVIP members with special services like room upgrades, champagne on arrival, surprise gifts, exclusive rates and priority bookings. iVIP Black is the premium version of iVIP and when you download this app, there is a screening process that checks whether you really are a high net worth individual worth more than £1 million or not. The iVIP Black membership is for a year during which you will be treated like a VIP across their partner venues, which includes priority access to unique events and experiences from private yachts, private jets, private islands and more.
One of their unique innovations for members is a £100,000 gift box. It’s called BlackBox and is a total surprise since members have no idea what’s inside the box till they open it. Members can choose from two options: a Premium Box that will be delivered to their home every other month at a cost of £1,200 per box, or the Infinity Box, which costs £100,000 a year. All the gifts are chosen by ‘expert consultants’. According to iVIP: “Each box will contain new, unique, exclusive, or limited-edition items scoured from around the globe; hand-curated, highly-coveted items from labelled goods to literature, tablets to telescopes, lovingly personalised, packaged, and posted to you. Premium Boxes contain anything from wine to watches, pocket squares to designer frames, Polaroid cameras to playing cards, signed literature to hand-painted artwork. Infinity Boxes, on the other hand, will contain the rarest and most desirable objects on earth, from fine art to fine wine, culinary excellence to ‘experiential ecstasy’, sourced from around the world.” There’s just one hitch: if you don’t like the gift or own some of the objects already, you can’t send it back. Instead, as iVIP’s brochure says, “BlackBox items make the perfect gift”.
