Srinagar Airport Terrorist Attack : In a pre-dawn terror attack, a number of terrorists barged into BSF camp near Srinagar airport on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir. Three terrorists were killed and 1 BSF jawan was martyred, according to reports. It has been learnt that heavy blasts and firing are underway. Following the attack on BSF camp, no employee or passenger or vehicle are being allowed to go towards the Airport. According to TV reports, Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility.

1:20 PM: After suspected fidayeen attacked the BSF camp near the Srinagar Airport in the early hours of Tuesday, Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir dubbed the act as cowardly.

1:15 PM: While calling for strengthening of security around the camps, Hansraj Ahir asserted that terrorist will have to pay for dastardly act.

1:10 PM: “Either say Pakistani or terrorist they are only cowards. The attack on BSF camp has become a challenge for us. Our security forces are retaliating. We will have to be more vigilant, security around the camps has to be strengthened,” Ahir said. “Terrorist will have to pay for the dastardly act,” he added.

12:47 PM: The BSF camp houses a battalion of India’s Border Security Force and only barbed wire separates it from the Srinagar airport, which is controlled and run by the Indian Air Force.

9:25 am: One militant was killed and four troopers injured in a terrorist attack at a Border Security Force (BSF) camp near the Srinagar airport on Tuesday, police said. The attack at the 182 battalion camp took place at 4.30 a.m.

9:19 AM: As the militants entered the camp’s administrative block, they were surrounded by the security forces, according to the police. “It was a suicide attack. One militant has been killed while an operation against other holed-up militants inside the camp is ongoing,” police sources said.
