The political crisis in Tamil Nadu today took to next level today with DMK leaders going on hunger strike today in protest against the ruckus in the state Assembly last Saturday during the Trust vote of new Chief Minister E Palaniswami.

The political crisis in Tamil Nadu took to next level today with DMK leaders going on hunger strike today in protest against the ruckus in the state Assembly last Saturday during the Trust vote of new Chief Minister E Palaniswami. The fast in Trichy is also to protest the alleged manhandling of the party Treasurer Stalin in the state Assembly on February 18 when the trust vote was taken up. The opposition DMK had submitted a letter to Tamil Nadu Assembly Secretary AMP Jamaludeen for a No-Confidence Motion against Speaker P Dhanapal. The DMK’s move came a day after party Working President and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly MK Stalin said his party will move a No-Confidence Motion against the Speaker in the backdrop of the February 18 trust vote which Chief Minister E K Palaniswami won with a 122-11 margin.

06:34 pm: MK Stalin alleged S Sasikala for the death of former CM J Jayalalithaa, says “If proper probe takes place into Jayalalithaa’s death,the person who’s in jail for 4 years now will be awarded lifetime imprisonment.”

2:35 PM: Narayanasamy condemned the alleged manhandling of DMK leader MK Stalin and eviction of all the DMK members from the House.

2:15 PM: In Puducherry, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today said the Speaker of Tamil Nadu Assembly
should have conceded the demand of the Opposition for a secret ballot during the trust vote, on February 18.
