Tamil Nadu governor C Vidyasagar Rao settled the dust about the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu when he met E Palaniswamy at Raj Bhavan on Thursday morning and invited him to form the government. The governor gave AIADMK leader 15 days to prove majority ending the debate over VK Sasikala and O Panneerselvam. The decision was welcomed by Sasikala supporters who raised slogans against O Panneerselvam outside Golden Bay Resorts in Kovathur. Later in the day, Palaniswamy met the governor again and submitted the list of 31-members who will form his cabinet. He has retained most members that were a part of Panneerselvam’s cabinet but has left out Sasikala’s nephew Dinakaran from the list. E Palaniswamy took the oath in the presence of his party members and is now the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
