Tamil Nadu political crisis: Kanimozhi has cleared that DMK is against the appointment of E Palaniswamy as the new Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and won't be participating in his floor test tomorrow.
Tamil Nadu political crisis: The daughter of former Tamil nNaduChief Minister M Karunanidhi and member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, Muthuvel Karunanidhi Kanimozhi who is known as Kanimozhi has cleared that DMK is against the appointment of E Palaniswamy as the new Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and won’t be participating in his floor test tomorrow. She was quoted as saying, “DMK has made it very clear that we’ll not be against/for it. We’ll not be participating.” Tamil Nadu speaker P Dhanapal had convened the session of the Tamil Nadu assembly at 11 am on Saturday for the trust vote. The news was confirmed by Assembly Secretary A M P Jamaludeen in a statement. “On that day, the vote of confidence will be taken up,” Jamaludeen said.
Previously, she had attacked the Governor Vidyasagar Rao for delaying the decision of appointing the new Chief Minister and said that the people of Tamil Nadu demand an explanation over this chaos. Speaking at an event, she said she has no idea why the governor has remained silent on this matter. “People are now of the view that only a government by DMK can speak about their problems and provide solutions,” she added.

Referring to the Jallikattu row, Rajya Sabha MP said the youth of Tamil Nadu has proved that they can even make the union government agree to their demands. Kanimozhi, herself is accused in the 2G spectrum allocation case but was given relief earlier this week when Special CBI Judge O P Saini allowed her to travel abroad for 5 days.
She has been granted permission to travel to Rwanda and Uganda from February 19 to 24. She was allowed to travel after the CBI had made sure that it was for an official purpose as she was required to accompany the Vice President of India. Kanimozhi was also asked to furnish a surety bond of Rs 2.5 lakh.
