Coming out in support of Tamil Nadu acting Chief Minister O Pannerselvam, actor Kamal Haasan today said that the former should be allowed to continue as the head of the government in the state. Speaking to India Today, he said that horse trading should not be allowed in the state.
Stressing that O Pannerselvam is not an incompetent chief minister he said that he seems to be the better option now as as Sasikala’s qualification to be the state chief minister is not known yet. Meanwhile, while State governor Vidyasagar Rao is expected to reach Chennai tomorrow, amid political crisis in the state, Sasikala will reach Delhi tomorrow along with MLAs supporting her.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister O Pannerselvam also said that he was ready to face floor test in the state Assembly. While brushing aside accusations that he was backed thethe Opposition parties like the DMK, he said that an interim General Secretary as no power dismiss him from party post. Last night, Sasikala had dismissed Panneerselvam as party treasurer.

While speaking to Thanthi TV, he said that said Sasikala was elected as interim General Secretary keeping in mind the interest of the party. He further said that a permanent General Secretary can be elected only by all the party members. When asked whether he would stake claim to form the government as Chief Minister Panneerselvam said: “Wait and see.”
Speking to reporters, Sasikala said all the party MLAS were united as a single family. She also accused that the DMK was behind Panneerselvam’s action.
