Stating that his government believes only in honest governance, Kejriwal said, "You can only face and answer the public if you are honest.
In a first of its kind initiative for the AAP government, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal today interacted with the public through his “Talk to AK” initiative. Stating that his government believes only in honest governance, Kejriwal said, “You can only face and answer the public if you are honest. When you are in public life, you should be ready for public scrutiny.”
Kejriwal went on to say, “When we came to power, we said that there is a lot of money in the government. A well intentioned government can do anything, and my experience after one and a half years is that this is true.” “We are saving money everywhere. For every project, we are ensuring that money is saved,” Kejriwal said.
He went on to cite examples of cost escalations in projects that have been launched in various parts of the country.
People from across India can reach out to the Delhi CM and ask questions via text messages and social media. Incidentally, Kejriwal decided to hold his interaction on the same day (Sunday) and time (11:00 AM) at which PM Narendra Modi holds his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ every month.
Officials have indicated that if the programme is a “success”, then this will become a monthly feature of the AAP government.
