A disturbing picture of a Syrian boy covered in dust and blood has gone viral online. The picture was reportedly clicked minutes after the five-year-old was rescued following an airstrike in Aleppo. The picture, now shared by lakhs of netizens, is being pointed as an example of the suffering of the city’s residents after years of war. The boy has been identified as Omran Daqneesh. The boy was reportedly admitted to a hospital Wednesday night and was treated and released for head wounds. Ironically, the hospital where he was brought was also destructed by airstrikes. 2. He is #OmranDaqneesh & he is somebody’s son. He is only five years old & he is our son. This is our war. Our horror.

Here is the video posted by AMC on Youtube:
In the video, a man carries the boy away from the rubble following a air strike. He then places the kid in an orange chair inside an ambulance. The boy, apparently unaware of the blood on his face, brushes his eye and face after the man walks away.
Reports estimate that more than 300,000 Syrians have been killed during the nation’s 5-year-old civil war so far. However, certain studies suggest the number could be as high as 500,000.
