On the day a Pakistani woman named Hijaab Asif got help from Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj in acquiring an Indian visa, she took to Twitter to support the Union Minister. It transpired that when Swaraj took a dig at her counterpart, Sartaj Aziz, the woman unhesitatingly took the Indian minister’s side. When a Twitter handle which goes by the name Satyamev Jayate posted a tweet asking a visa for Kulbhushan Jadhav’s mother, Asif replied by saying, unfortunately, there is no Sushma Swaraj in her country. “India is asking visa for mother of #KulbhushanJadhav nothing has been done. We Indians request you to talk to ur Government & Army,” was the tweet from Satyamev Jayate Twitter handle. Replying to this, Asif went on to say that nobody in Pakistan even knows whether Sartaj Aziz exists. “Nobody in our government is maam @SushmaSwaraj we have #SartajAziz who nobody knows even exists or not,” she posted.

Earlier, Asif had posted a number of tweets seeking help from Swaraj. After this, India’s external affairs minister directed the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to issue a visa for medical treatment. She had also taken a dig at Sartaj Aziz by posting, “@Hijaab_asif Kya aap jaise serious case mein bhi Sartaj Aziz sahib ne chitthi dene se mana kr diya ? /1 (Did Sartaj Aziz not give a letter approving an Indian visa even in such a serious case as yours?)”

Immediatley after Swaraj’s direction to India’s High Commissioner in Pakistan Gautam Bambawale, the Indian mission tweeted that it was in touch with the applicant. “Ma’am, we are in touch with the applicant. Rest assured we will follow it up,” the Indian High Commission said in a tweet. Touched by Swaraj’s prompt response, Asif said, “Lots and Lots of Love and respect from here. Wish you were our prime minister. this country would have changed.”

“Dear ma’am, spoke to DHC (Deputy High Commissioner) in Islamabad, told the patient’s current condition and he said it’s all up to you. If you allow,” Asif had tweeted earlier. The patient is suffering from serious liver ailment and needs urgent treatment in India, she said. After Swaraj’s direction to grant a visa to the patient, Asif was effusive in her praise of the external affairs minister. “@SushmaSwaraj What do I call you? Superwoman? God? No words to describe your generosity! Love you ma’am. Cannot stop praising you in tears!!!,” she said.
