Surgical Strikes: Muslim groups in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow and Agra celebrated the success of Indian Army’s surgical strikes operation across LoC after Friday Namaz. Local community leaders gathered at Lucknow’s Eidgaah and applauded the success of Army, Jagran reported on Friday. Some of the groups even raised banners showing their praise and support to the Indian Army. The operation was also applauded in city’s Islamic center where people also prayed for the well-being of the Jawans. Fireworks were also carried out in several parts of the city to celebrate the moment. Along with Lucknow, community leaders in the city of Agra, Kanpur and Allahabad also celebrated and distributed sweets make the occasion special. Indian Army on Wednesday night conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC), exactly 10 days after the Uri terror attack.
Significant casualties were caused to the terrorist launch pads. Media reports said that around 50 terrorists were killed in the strikes. Army said that motive of this operation was to hit out at the terrorists who were planning to infiltrate into Indian territory. Indian Army has also shared the details of surgical strikes with Pakistan Army. There were no Indian causalities during surgical strikes. A number of weapons, including GPS which have Pakistani markings, were recovered in the strikes. Terrorists hailing from PoK or Pakistan have also been captured in the strikes. The Army said that that the terrorists have confessed to their training in Pakistan or in the Pakistan-controlled region.
