Surgical strikes in LOC: India safe in the hands of PM Narendra Modi and Indian Army, says I&B Minister Venkaiah Naidu

Speaking on the surgical strikes by the Indian army in Pakistan, Union Minister for Information and broadcasting, Venkaiah Naidu said the government will take every befitting measure that needs to be taken in order to ensure the safety and security of the country.

Speaking on the surgical strikes by the Indian army in Pakistan, Union Minister for Information and broadcasting, Venkaiah Naidu said the government will take every befitting measure that needs to be taken in order to ensure the safety and security of the country. Naidu claimed that Pakistan has been aiding terrorists since long. Naidu said, “These operations are a part of the mandate of the Indian Army to foil any attempts of infiltration into our soil. India has been repeatedly urging Pakistan that its territory should not be allowed for terror activities. Our positive gestures were only reciprocated with further encouragement to terrorists (by Pakistan). ” Naidu added that PM Narendra Modi has reassured the nation that these terrorist acts will not be tolerated. He said, “After the Uri terror attack, people of India were outraged. PM Modi said that befitting measures will be taken to ensure the safety and security of the country. Army operation was a part of their responsibility in defending unity, safety and security of the country.

Today, on September 20, the Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Ranbir Singh and Vikas Swarup informed the media that India had conducted surgical strikes previous night all across the LoC which resulted in significant casualties to the terrorists. Lt Gen Singh said, “Significant casualties have been caused to terrorists and those trying to shield them. We don’t have a plan to further conduct such strikes. India has spoken to Pakistan.” There were no Indian casualties, last night when Indian Army conducted the surgical strikes. Singh added, “We have recovered items including GPS which have Pakistani markings. Captured terrorists hailing from PoK or Pakistan have confessed to their training in Pakistan or in the Pakistan-controlled region.” Singh spoke at a press conference which was conducted jointly by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.

Pakistan, on the other hand, has denied the reports of surgical strikes by Indian armed forces along LoC in PoK. Pakistan claimed that India’s statements about ‘surgical strikes across the border’ are false and instead they were just a simple instance of cross-border fire.
