A stampede was reported at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday, primarily on platforms 14 and 15, prompting the dispatch of four fire tenders to the scene, according to a Delhi Fire Services official. Many passengers were found unconscious and rescued as a large crowd, mostly without confirmed tickets, gathered for the Mahakumbh.

Railways officials confirmed that two Kumbh Special trains were operating to accommodate the demand. The situation is now under control, with Indian Railways and Delhi Police on the scene.

An investigation is underway to determine how the passengers arrived without tickets. According to media reports while no stampede occurred, the overcrowding led to suffocation-like conditions, with some passengers being sent for treatment. The incident occurred around 8:00 pm.
