In yet another terror attack in heart of Srinagar city, one dead and as many as 14 people were injured when a militant threw a grenade at a CRPF camp, ANI reports. One civilian has succumbed to his injuries in the attack, as per ANI. “Some miscreant tried to throw a grenade on the deployment but reportedly it exploded close to him and he (miscreant) is injured,” SSP Srinagar said. A photograph released by the new agency showed that the front glass of an auto rickshaw shattered due to the grenade blast. The security forces have cordoned off the area. Explosion created panic in the area and people were seen running for lives.
Earlier on 4th September, four CRPF jawans were injured in a grenade attack by militants on a patrol party on the security forces in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. The attackers hurled a grenade on the CRPF patrol, resulting in injuries to three jawans, a police official said. Security forces had launched a search operation in the area to nab the attackers.

On July 15, a CRPF officer was injured when militants carried out a grenade attack in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, a police official said. Unidentified militants hurled a grenade at a patrolling party of the CRPF in the main town of Kulgam, about 70 km from here, the official said. He said the grenade blast left Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajinder Singh injured, as per PTI.
