Post-mortem reports of eight SIMI activists, who were killed in an alleged encounter after they had fled from a jail in Bhopal, is out. The reports suggest that there were “multiple entry and exit wounds” on bodies. It was also revealed that majority of the wounds are above waist, a report said. It has been learnt that clothes of the slain terrorists have been sent for forensic test. Earlier, the National Human Rights Commission had issued notices to Madhya Pradesh government, police and prison authorities over the incident. The Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of a media report on the case and observed that it has always been “concerned” about deaths in police and judicial custody as well as in police action.
The NHRC has issued notices to the state’s Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and the Director General and Inspector General of state prison department, and sought detailed reports in six weeks.
