In a shocking instance, a university in Bihar has put the photo of Lord Ganesha on the admit card of a B.Com student. Krishna Kumar Roy, a first-year B.Com (Hons) student at the Lalit Narayan Mithila University in Darbhanga district of Bihar was shocked to see an image of Lord Ganesha on his admit card. The picture of Lord Ganesha on his admit card instead of his own was not the only goof up that jolted Krishna but there is also a signature of Lord Ganesha in place of his signature on the admit card! The residential address of Krishna is also wrong.

The exams for which the admit card is issued are scheduled to begin from October 9 and Krishna Kumar is worried whether the authorities can rectify the bizarre goof up before they start. As per a report by India Today, Krishna said, ” “I had filled the examination form correctly along with my photo, but I am shocked to see Lord Ganesha’s photo on my admit card. Will Lord Ganesha sit for the exams? I am running from pillar to post to rectify the mistake but no one is willing to listen. This is the negligence of University authorities.” However, the incident only highlighted the casual approach being adopted by the authorities.

In their defense, the authorities of the Lalit Narayan Mithila University blamed the cyber cafe which was outsourced to prepare admit cards for the candidates, as per the India Today report.”We are inquiring into the matter as to how this mistake happened. We will rectify the mistake soon and the candidate will have no problem in appearing for exams,” Kulanand Yadav, Controller of Examination of the Lalit Narayan Mithila University told India Today. The incident shows that there wasn’t any screen or checking of the cards before allotment.

Earlier this year, in January, in another shocking incident of negligence, the Bihar Board had also put a topless photo of a Bhojpuri actress on the admit card of a girl who was to appear for Bihar Staff Selection Commission exams, as per India Today.
