In a shocking incident, a couple was found dead in naked state in their apartment's bathroom in Ghaziabad.

The reason for the death could not be ascertained. The incident took place at Gyan Khand area of Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram.

Speaking to media, district police chief HN Singh said that Neeraj Singhania and his wife Ruchi, who got married four years ago, were found dead in the bathroom of their house last night. The bodies of the couple were spotted by their relatives.

Both of them were rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared them brought dead. Neeraj’s father Prem Prakash said that the couple had left for their room after the Holi festivities last night. Singh said that bodies have been sent for postmortem, adding, that no complaints have been filed in the matter yet. As per an India Today report, Niraj Singhania, 38, worked as the deputy general manager at a reputed cellular company. The couple had returned home with the rest of the family members around 5:30 pm after the Holi celebration on Friday.

Later, the duo went to their bedroom to get ready for the birthday celebration of Neeraj’s father. The couple went inside the room, while their four-year-old daughter stayed back. Around 7:30 pm, Niraj’s father knocked on the bedroom door. However, no response was received from inside. Around 9:30 pm, Prem Prakash again knocked on the door. Worried after receiving no response from inside, Prakash informed Niraj’s younger brother Varun, who tried to peek through the bedroom window, saw a glimpse of his sister-in-law’s feet.

Asked if suffocation could be the reason for the death, Niraj’s father told a news website that the gas geyser which is installed inside the bathroom was turned off and the buckets were also empty. A case has been registered. However, the police are not certain whether it is a matter of suicide or murder due to the non-existence of any kind circumstantial evidence.
